This Antique Ancestry Poster is an INSTANT DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, meant to be printed up to 18″ x 24″. The Family Tree Chart Printable comes as both JPEG and PDF files. At the bottom, it says “Genealogical Tree.” You also get a variation that says “Chosen Family Tree” and one with no words on it at all. These are freeform family trees, which means that you don’t have to know how each person is related to the others. You can just fill in names wherever you like. This is a wonderful solution for non-traditional family groups and all sorts of people you want to include who wouldn’t fit on a normal pedigree-style family tree. You can include more than 2 parents, divorcees with their new spouses, foster children, adopted kids, biological parents, godparents, aunts, uncles, their brothers, sisters, cousins, best friends, family friends, siblings from any generation, etc.

HOW DO I FILL IT IN?
I’ve created a really simple tutorial about freeform family trees on my blog, with step by step instructions and a cheat sheet you can download:
If you write small, you can put a tiny number on each tree branch and use the blank spaces at the bottom as a key, making notes about whom each branch contains. For example: “5. Relatives from Bill’s side of the family.”

Guest signature board:
Use the “no words version” as a sign-in board at family reunions and weddings! You can print it out and let guests add their names to your chosen family tree!
Gift it multiple times:
This is also a beautiful gift for any genealogist or family history researchers in your family and among your friends. It can be given to friends to celebrate a new baby or marriage. Print, frame (with or without glass), and give it to grandparents and in-laws as an anniversary or welcome to the family gift!
Community building poster for teachers:
You can use the “no words version” in a classroom, to help the students feel like a community.
The possibilities are endless.
